Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Friday, June 23rd, 2017. Let’s get started.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Thursday discussion thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****New York Yankees right-handed pitching prospect Chance Adams threw six strong innings for Triple-A Scranton against Pawtucket, giving up one hit, two walks, and zero runs while fanning eight. He now has a 2.12 ERA in 46.2 innings for the Railriders with a 52/17 K/BB and a mere 24 hits allowed.

****Washington Nationals first base prospect Jose Marmolejos went 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored for Double-A Harrisburg, raising his season line to .315/.379/.538 in 143 at-bats.

****Houston Astros outfield prospect and 2015 first round pick Kyle Tucker went 2-for-6 with a home run and two RBI for Double-A Corpus Christi. Since moving up to the Texas League he is hitting .255/.300/.511 with five homers, five walks, and 25 strikeouts in 94 at-bats, not bad at all for a 20-year-old.

****Los Angeles Angels farmhand Kaleb Cowart hit for the cycle for Triple-A Salt Lake, going 6-for-6 with five RBI and five runs scored in Pacific Coast League action against Las Vegas. He’s now hitting .321/.393/.476 in 271 at-bats. Cowart has hit well in Triple-A for two and a half season but has never been able to get over the hump in the majors. At age 25 he still has a shot at being a role player and could get another trial later this year.
