****Tampa Bay Rays rookie Jacob Faria mowed down the Detroit Tigers in his third major league start, pitching seven innings allowing six hits, one walk, and one run, while fanning nine. He now has a 1.37 ERA in 19.2 MLB innings with a 22/4 K/BB.

****Minnesota Twins prospect Nick Gordon went 2-for-5 with three runs scored for Double-A Chattanooga. He’s hit .360 in his last 10 games and is at .315/.376/.504 on the season.

****New York Yankees pitching prospect Justus Sheffield threw a seven-inning complete game shutout for Double-A Trenton in Eastern League action, allowing three hits and one walk, fanning three. He now has a 2.99 ERA in 75 innings with a 64/25 K/BB, handling the transition to Double-A well.
