Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Tuesday, May 30th, 2017. I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day holiday.

Today is a special day for me: it is my 25th wedding anniversary!

As for baseball, here we go:

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be found in the Memorial Day discussion thread.

COOL STUFF THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Houston Astros outfield prospect Derek Fisher went 3-for-3 with two walks, a home run, and three RBI for Triple-A Fresno in the Pacific Coast League. He’s now hitting .337/.399/.592 on the season with 12 homers and 14 doubles. His approach remains aggressive (18 walks, 46 strikeouts in 196 at-bats) but he’s tapping his power and making it work.

****Arizona Diamondbacks pitching prospect Jon Duplantier continues to mow down Low-A hitters, throwing six shutout innings for Kane County in the Midwest League. This gives him a 0.50 ERA in 54 innings with a 62/11 K/BB and a mere 25 hits allowed for a .139 average against. Drafted in the third round in 2016 out of Rice, he is clearly too good for this level as a polished college pitcher with a low-to-mid-90s fastball and a plus curve.

****New York Mets prospect Amed Rosario went 2-for-4 yesterday with three runs scored and three RBI, giving him a 16-game hitting streak for the Triple-A Las Vegas ‘51s. He’s up to .354/.393/.519.
