Good afternoon everybody and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Wednesday, May 10th, 2017. Let’s get started.

****Highlights from yesterday can be found in the Tuesday comments thread.

COOL THINGS THAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY

****Yesterday we discussed the promotion of Atlanta Braves outfield prospect Ronald Acuna to Double-A Mississippi. He scoffed at any skepticism, hitting a home run in his first at-bat and going 3-for-4. And he just hit another home run today.

****Acuna has been joined at Mississippi by pitching prospect Luiz Gohara. The 20 year old southpaw from Brazil had a 1.98 ERA in 36.1 innings for the High-A Florida Fire Frogs, accompanied by a 39/10 K/BB.

****Cleveland Indians pitching prospect Tristan McKenzie struck out 14 over six innings for High-A Lynchburg yesterday, giving up just one walk and one hit. He now has a 1.95 ERA in 32.1 innings with a 44/12 K/BB and 20 hits allowed. The Indians aren’t as aggressive as the Braves are regarding promotions so it will be interesting to see how fast they are willing to move McKenzie, who is dominating High-A at age 19.
