Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Monday, May 1st, 2017. Let’s get started on another week of minor league baseball coverage and discussion.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Highlights from yesterday can be found in the Sunday comments thread.

COOL THINGS FROM YESTERDAY

****Minnesota Twins right-hander Jose Berrios had another strong outing for Triple-A Rochester, throwing eight shutout innings with seven strikeouts, two walks, and two hits against Louisville. This gives him a 1.09 ERA in 33 innings over five starts, with just 18 hits allowed and a 35/8 K/BB. He obviously has nothing left to prove here, but at what point do you call him up again if you are the Twins brass?

****Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitching prospect Mitch Keller threw seven shutout innings for High-A Bradenton in the Florida State League, fanning nine with one walk and five hits against Charlotte. He now has a 3.62 ERA with a 25/5 K/BB in 27 innings.

****Texas Rangers prospect Ronald Guzman continues to mash Triple-A pitching, going 3-for-5 with Round Rock, raising his season line to .348/.414/.494.

****A dominant outing from Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Sean Newcomb: 11 strikeouts in seven shutout innings for Gwinnett against Pawtucket, giving up one hit and two walks. He now has a 3.08 ERA in 26 innings with a 35/15 K/BB, holding hitters to a .212 average.

****Three home runs yesterday from Washington Nationals prospect Carter Kieboom, part of a 5-for-7 day, moving his season line to .333/.413/.580 for Low-A Hagerstown in the South Atlantic League.
