Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Thursday, April 27th, 2017. To the business of baseball we go.
****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard
****Beyond the Boxscore’s excellent daily MLB recap
****Yesterday’s Highlights can be seen in the Wednesday discussion thread
COOL STUFF FROM YESTERDAY
****Corey Seager hit a 4,874,988 foot home run against the San Francisco Giants. Actually it was 463, but still.
****Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect (and Shadow Twins prospect) Jesus Sanchez went 3-for-5 with four RBI for Low-A Bowling Green yesterday, raising his season line to .318/.366/.545 including .341 in his last 10 games.
****Washington Nationals outfield prospect (and another Shadow Twin) Juan Soto went 0-for-5 in a double-header for Low-A Hagerstown but is still hitting .371/.450/.514 on the season.
****The third member of the Shadow Twins Low-A outfield is Joel Booker, currently hitting .347/.391/.389 with five steals for Low-A Kannapolis in the Chicago White Sox system. In real life he was a 22nd round pick last year by the White Sox from the University of Iowa. I picked him in the 21st round in the Shadow Draft. Booker is already 23 but is a legitimate 70-runner worth tracking as a sleeper. He went 0-for-5 in the same double-header as Soto.
