Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Tuesday, April 18th, 2017. Down to business we go.

****Today’s Minor League Scoreboard

****Today’s MLB scoreboard

****Beyond the Boxscore’s excellent daily MLB summary

****Yesterday’s Highlights can be seen in the Monday discussion thread.

****At, our own Wayne Cavadi looks at the Strikeout Kings of college baseball.

****Toronto Blue Jays outfield prospect Anthony Alford went 3-for-4 yesterday for Double-A New Hampshire. Through nine games he’s hitting .500/.590/.656.

****Chicago Cubs prospect Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-5 yesterday for Triple-A Iowa and is now hitting .326/.408/.791 through 12 games, 43 at-bats.

****Not a prospect per-se, but I’m certainly rooting for Eric Thames. More on him tomorrow. He’s up to .405/.479/1.000 through 12 games with the Milwaukee Brewers.

****Battle to the death last night between Hartford and Harrisburg in the Double-A Eastern League, the contest going 13 innings and eventually ending in a 16-14 victory for Harrisburg. Senators outfielder Andrew Stevenson went 5-for-7 with a double and three runs scored, while Hartford’s Ryan McMahon also went 5-for-7. McMahon is now hitting .413.

****LoneStarBall has video of Ronald Guzman hitting a home run for Triple-A Round Rock against the Iowa Cubs last night.

****Archie Bradley, Arizona Diamondbacks relief ace? Why not? Devan Fink at Beyond the Boxscore makes the case.

****Eric Longenhagen’s daily notes at Fangraphs are worth a read.

****At The Hardball Times, Eli Ben-Porat has an article called “Scouting the Minors Pitch-by-Pitch: Projecting Infield Defense.” Worth your time!
