Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Wednesday, March 8th, 2017. Here are some items worthy of reading and consideration at the midway point of the workweek.

****MLB spring training scoreboard

****World Baseball Classic scoreboard

****Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Stephen Moore is postponing his baseball career to be a pilot in the United States Navy.

****Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Austin Meadows knocked a home run yesterday and is 4-for-14 (.286) with two doubles and three walks in spring training action.

****At Beyond the Boxscore, Henry Druschel looks at Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes, noting that the projection systems like him while scouts don’t particularly, the latter point showing up as lukewarm rankings on most prospect lists. I had him at 12th overall in the Dodgers system albeit with a solid B- grade.

****Injuries have struck down several players with the Atlanta Braves: infielders Dansby Swanson (back problems) and Ozzie Albies (elbow injury), pitching prospect A.J. Minter (sore arm), and outfielder Dustin Peterson (hand surgery) are all ailing, with Peterson expected to miss two months. That’s all in addition to losing veteran Sean Rodriguez for most or all of the year while he recovers from a shoulder injury sustained in a car accident.

****At SouthSideSox, Jim Margalus notes the strong consensus on the Top White Sox prospects among the various public lists, which he takes as a sign of an improving system.

****At Fangraphs, Jeff Sullivan looks at MLB strength of schedules for 2017.
