****Tampa Bay Rays first base prospect Casey Gillaspie slammed two homers yesterday, with teammate Jake Bauers adding another long ball in an 8-2 Rays victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Gillaspie is now 5-for-19 on the spring with six RBI while Bauers is 8-for-20.
****Pittsburgh Pirates outfield prospect Jose Osuna is 11-for-25 with four home runs this spring.
****Houston Astros prospect A.J. Reed is 9-for-25 with four homers as well. I will have a longer article about him this week.
****Anthony Castrovince at SportsonEarth points out that shortstops are not so short anymore.
****Ryan Romano at Beyond the Boxscore looks at the largest disagreements between the various projection systems as we enter 2017.
****Mark Davidson at ByB believes that expectations for Los Angeles Angels right-hander Matt Shoemaker are still too low. And he has the sabermetrics to back it up.
