As I slog through the process of ranking the Top 175 prospects list, certain players tend to cluster around each other. A current example are a trio of infielders: Franklin Barreto of the Oakland Athletics, Amed Rosario of the New York Mets, and Gleyber Torres of the New York Yankees. All three are currently in my Top Ten. This is in line with consensus as far as Rosario and Torres are concerned, although other observers tend to rank Barreto somewhat lower, probably due to questions about his defense.
When the list is finished I will likely write a Prospect Smackdown article comparing the three, but this seems like a good concept for community discussion at the moment.
So, like, discuss.
