San Diego Padres organization discussion

I am now working on the Seattle Mariners Top 20 prospects list for 2017. The next team in line is the San Diego Padres, which finishes all 30 teams. Once the Padres are done, the older lists will be revised to reflect off-season trades, then we will work on the Top 175 Prospects list for 2017. After that we will begin pivoting to draft coverage.

Use this thread to discuss the San Diego Padres organization. Some possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:

****The Padres finished at 68-94 in 2016, fifth place in the National League Western Division. How soon can they return to respectability? Is .500 a realistic goal for 2017?

****Thinking a bit further ahead, if you were the owner of the Padres how much more slack/time would you give GM A.J. Preller?

****Your plans for Alex Dickerson, Manuel Margot, and Hunter Renfroe? Who do you commit to in the outfield long-term?

****You pick third in the 2017 MLB draft. Any early targets of interest?
