Good morning everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Tuesday, November 7th, 2017. Here are some highlights from yesterday’s action in the Arizona Fall League.
*****San Diego Padres first base prospect Josh Naylor went 2-for-4 with two runs scored to help lead the Peoria Javelinas to a 4-3 win over the Glendale Desert Dogs. Seattle Mariners pitcher Max Povse gave up three runs over five innings while fanning four for the victors.
*****Pitching dominated the game between the Salt River Rafters and the Surprise Saguaros, with the Rafters winning 2-1. The only real offensive highlight was provided by Saguaros outfielder and Minnesota Twins prospect Lamonte Wade, who hit a home run.
*****New York Yankees infielder Thairo Estrada went 3-for-4 for the Scottsdale Scorpions while teammate Steven Duggar of the San Francisco Giants system went 2-for-4 with a home run; alas, the Scorpions still fell 5-2 to the Mesa Solar Sox, who rode a balanced offensive attack and four strong innings from Washington Nationals right-hander Kyle McGowin to the win.
