The American League 2017 Division Series gets started today. In the afternoon game Chris Sale and the Boston Red Sox will take on Justin Verlander and the Houston Astros. The night game will feature Sonny Gray and the New York Yankees against Trevor Bauer and the Cleveland Indians.

Yesterday we predicted that the Arizona Diamondbacks would defeat the Colorado Rockies 7-1 behind a Zack Greinke complete game and a three-hit, four-RBI game from Jake Lamb. We got the pitching details wrong as Greinke got knocked out early but the result was right with an 11-8 Diamondbacks victory. Lamb did have a good game, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored but zero RBI.

This brings our prediction record to 1-1 on this post season.

***The Astros will defeat the Red Sox 4-2 thanks to a three-run homer by George Springer.

***The Indians will beat the Yankees 8-5. Aaron Hicks and Brett Gardner will hit home runs but the Indians will string together timely hits including a home run by Carlos Santana to pull the game out.

What do you guys say?
