Good day everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday discussion thread for Wednesday, October 25th, 2017. Here are some highlights from yesterday’s prospect action in the Arizona Fall League:
*****Atlanta Braves prospect Ronald Acuna homered in a losing cause for the Peoria Javelinas, who were knocked off 3-2 by the Glendale Desert Dogs in a pitching-dominated game. Seattle Mariners right-hander Max Povse gave up one run over four innings of work for Peoria.
****The Scottsdale Scorpions and the Mesa Solar Sox also engaged in a low-scoring contest, the Scorpions victorious 3-1. Los Angeles Angels outfield prospect Troy Montgomery was the hitting star for Scottsdale, going 3-for-4. Teammate Albert Abreu of the New York Yankees system gave up one run over five innings while fanning four. Opponent Kyle McGowin of the Washington Nationals system was also effective, fanning six over four innings with one run allowed.
*****Baltimore Orioles prospect Anthony Santander went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles for the Salt River Rafters, albeit in a losing 4-3 game to the Surprise Saguaros.
