MOD ANGELS #1

Welcome to the first Los Angeles Angels 2016 Draft post.

As everyone probably already knows, the Angels have had some pretty bad luck lately (Richards, Heaney, Simmons, etc ...) and to top it off have one of, if not the worst farm systems that most experts have seen in years. As the GM this year, that can be both a good and a bad thing when it comes to who to draft. The one thing that recent Angel draft history has shown, is a propensity to go the "safe" college route. Some of that is due to where the have picked recently and the draft budget associated with those picks, but another reason is their fear of the high risk, high reward prep player after their forgettable 2010 Draft ...

... their putrid record on the International Free Agent market, and losing draft picks for signing protected free agents (Albert Puljos, CJ Wilson, Josh Hamilton, etc ...).
