****Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the weekend edition of Minor League Ball daily notes, for May 7th and May 8th. Here are some baseball news items for your edification and amusement.

****More than half of the Baseball Prospect Book back orders have been shipped and the remainder will go out Monday. You should start seeing the book in your mailboxes very soon.

*****There's increasing talk that Dodgers prospect Julio Urias will end up in the big league bullpen, at least in the short run. What do you guys think about that idea?

****Carson Cistulli at Fangraphs checks in with his weekly Fringe Five prospect series.

****As the July 2nd international signing window steadily approaches, we'll be hearing more about the key players involved, especially after the 2016 MLB Draft is over in June. For now, MLB.com offers this excellent primer with their take on the top 30 prospects with an introduction by Jesse Sanchez.

****I was very glad to see this tweet.

You young whippersnappers don't know what it was like to worry about a strike or lockout every three years.
