Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Minor League Ball Gameday thread for Tuesday, May 31st, 2016.

***The daily spreadsheets are *almost* operational again. Thanks for your patience.

***Remember that the Minor League Ball Community Mock Draft is coming up on Saturday, June 4th.

Items of interest for today:

****How much longer will Washington Nationals shortstop Trea Turner spend in the minor leagues? Probably not very much; yesterday was the last day he had to spend in the minors to push free agency back a year according to Thomas Boswell at The Washington Post.

Turner is hitting .321/.385/.489 in Triple-A with 16 steals in 16 attempts along with impressive defense. There's nothing left to prove down there and you have to assume Turner will be up later this week.

****Chicago Cubs catching prospect Willson Contreras hit two homers and drove in five for the Triple-A Iowa Cubs yesterday. leading the Des Moineites to an 11-0 crushing of Albuquerque.

****At Beyond the Boxscore, Jen Mac Ramos compares Dodgers lefty Julio Urias with other major league pitchers who made their big Show debuts at age 19Matt Jackson takes his own look at the same topic using different metrics.

****Over at Fangraphs, Eric Longenhagen scouts Brady Aiken's professional debut in extended spring training for the Cleveland Indians. Aiken is much larger than he was in high school and his stuff wasn't especially crisp, but you can't draw any conclusions based on an extended spring game for a guy finishing up Tommy John rehab.

****Also at Fangraphs, Nathaniel Grow looks at the legal implications of MLB using biometric data.

****Hardball Times has a look at the playing background of MLB managers, by Wayne Epps.
