Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Opening Day edition of Minor League Ball daily notes. Here are some baseball news links for your edification and amusement.
****In case you missed it, here is the Minor League Ball 2016 Organization farm system rankings list.
****The next few days, we will be posting "What to expect" articles for all of the major league rookies.
****The next major project after that is a Mock Draft.
****One player to watch closely for the 2016 draft is University of Virginia right-hander Connor Jones, profiled by Ethan Novak at Lookout Landing.
****At Beyond the Boxscore, Jerry Burnes breaks down reasons for the decline and fall of Jesus Montero.
****At FakeTeams, Rob Parker looks at Cincinnati Reds lefty Brandon Finnegan and his under-rated fantasy potential.
****It is Opening Day, so naturally Cardinals outfielder Tommy Pham got hurt, leaving the game with an oblique injury. If this lasts awhile it could open some playing time for rookie Jeremy Hazelbaker, who will be profiled here at Minor League Ball later this afternoon. I hate to see Pham hurt. He has a long track record of physical issues but he's a damn useful player when he takes the field.
****At Bucs Dugout, Charlie Wilmoth tells us about the all-prospect starting rotation at Triple-A Indianapolis: Tyler Glasnow, Jameson Taillon, Trevor Williams, Steven Brault, and Chad Kuhl.
