San Diego Padres organization discussion

I am now working on the Seattle Mariners Top 20 prospects for 2016 list. The next team in line is the San Diego Padres, to be followed by the Top 175 prospects list. The PDF of the 2016 Baseball Prospect Book should be distributed by this time next week.

****The Padres finished 74-88 in fourth place in the National League Western division in 2015. Obviously this was extremely disappointing, with the roster overhaul by new showrunner A.J. Preller failing dismally.  What is your assessment of this team for 2016? Can they get back into contention?
