I am now working on the Pittsburgh Pirates Top 20 prospects list for 2016. The next team in line is the Seattle Mariners, to be followed by the San Diego Padres, the Top 175 prospects list, and the organization rankings. I anticipate that the 2016 Baseball Prospect Book will be finished by this time this week.
Use this thread to discuss the Seattle Mariners system. Possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to:
****The Mariners finished 76-86 in 2015, in fourth place in the American League Western division. What are your hopes for 2016? Will they get back to .500 or beyond, or will they stay stagnant, or will they collapse completely?
****Ketel Marte: slash line for 2016? Will he stay about where he is now, or can he improve further? He was a 1.7 fWAR player in 57 big league games. Over 162 games that's 4.7 fWAR. Is that a realistic goal for a full season?
****What is your take in Mike Zunino? Is there any hope at all?
****Taijuan Walker: big leap forward, or steady development?
****Are you worried about the struggles of Alex Jackson? I am.
****Boog Powell: Fourth outfielder, or something more?
****As always, feel free to discuss sleepers or anything else Mariners-oriented.
