I am now working on the St. Louis Cardinals Top 20 prospects list for 2016. The next team in line is the Tampa Bay Rays, to be followed by the Colorado Rockies, Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, San Diego Padres, and the Top 175 prospects for 2016 list.
Use this thread to discuss the Tampa Bay Rays. Possible points for discussion include, but are by no means limited to,
***The Rays finished 80-82, in fourth place in the American League East. What do you make of the roster revamps? Does this team continue to hover around .500, or does it challenge for the division lead, or does it totally collapse?
***What do you project for Steven Souza and his slash line this year? Will strikeouts eat him up or do you think he can boost his batting average and OBP?
***Tim Beckham: anything more than a utility infielder?
***What got into Mikie Mahtook down the stretch, with his .295/.351/.619 line? Let's just say that is out of context with his minor league career. . .but then, he was a college star and a first round pick. Has he really taken such a large leap forward?
***How quickly do you push top pitching prospects Blake Snell, Taylor Guerrieri, and Brent Honeywell?
***As always, feel free to discuss sleepers and anything else Rays-oriented.
