I am now working on the Kansas City Royals Top 20 prospects list for 2017. The next team in line is the World Champion Chicago Cubs, to be followed by the American League Champion Cleveland Indians, the Arizona Diamondbacks, and the New York Yankees.
Use this thread to discuss the Chicago Cubs organization and farm system. Some possible points for discussion include, but are certainly not limited to,
***Where do you go from here? The Cubs won the World Series. They won 103 games during the regular season, and they did it with a bunch of young talent. From my point of view, the pieces for a true dynasty are in place here, but of course that is easier to maintain on paper than it is in real life. What are the weaknesses here? What can be done to improve the team going forward?
***Starting pitching could be an issue: four of their five main 2016 starters are 30 or older. What do you see in the farm system to cover those spots, or which prospects could be made available in trade to find veterans to fill those spots?
***What is your starting lineup for 2019?
***Do you regard any of the prospects in this system as untouchable?
***As always, feel free to share your sleeper prospects or just talk about anything Cubs-related.
