Minor League Ball Gameday, October 18

John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

Yesterday we predicted that the Indians would beat the Blue Jays 9-7 and that Trevor Bauer would fan nine in five innings but give up three homers. The player-specific goal was a bust as Bauer was unable to get out of the first inning, but as you know the Indians rode their bullpen to a 4-2 win. This brings our post-season prediction record this year to 12-8.

For today's games, we'll predict that the Blue Jays stave off elimination with a 3-2 victory and that the Cubs will defeat the Dodgers 5-2.

A reader asked Friday about Arizona Fall League coverage. The AFL got going last week and yes we will cover it: we have a new writer, Taylor Rocha, who will be leading our AFL coverage for us starting this week. I'll also be contributing and of course everyone should feel free to discuss AFL events here in the daily discussion thread.
