Hello everyone and welcome back to another edition of the Minor League Ball Gameday thread. Family obligations and personal obligations to blow things up with fireworks have sapped my free time this weekend. We will be back to full strength tomorrow but until then, lets do a quick look ahead to what is happening in the world of the minor leagues.
***Out in the Florida State League, Cardinals 2014 1st round pick Luke Weaver faces off against Rays righty German Marquez in an early day game. Weaver is 1-4 with a 2.97 ERA this year while the Sleeper Alert! Marquez sports a 4-7 record and 3.43 ERA.
***Milwaukee left hander Brent Suter of the AA Biloxi Shuckers takes his 1.88 ERA and 4-3 record to Montgomery, Alabama as they square off against Rays righty Jaime Schultz. Schultz is 5-4 on the year with a 3.62 ERA.
***Helium Tank RHP Ivan Pineyro of the Cubs goes up against fellow Chicago prospect and Top 150 pitcher Tyler Danish of the White Sox. Pineyro is 5-3 with a 3.26 ERA for AA Tennessee while the 20 year old Danish has struggled for Birmingham, pitching to a 4.68 ERA and 4-5 record.
***Braves right hander Lucas Sims makes his first start for High A Carolina since being injured in a bus crash back in May. The 21 year old made two rehab appearances with the Gulf Coast League Braves at the end of June and sports a 5.20 ERA and 2-3 record on the year.
