Good afternoon baseball fans and prospect watchers. Here is your daily Minor League Ball Gameday thread. Opening Day is just a few short hours away. . .well, maybe more than a few. But much closer!

***Major news yesterday was on the trade front with the Arizona Diamondbacks sending right-handed starter Trevor Cahill to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for outfielder Josh Elander.

Who is Josh Elander? He was drafted in the sixth round out of Texas Christian University in 2012. He had a solid season in 2013 (.318/.381/.536) in Low-A but missed much of 2014 with injuries and hit just .219/.319/.328 in 37 games for High-A Lynchburg. He was a pretty interesting prospect a couple of years ago but at age 24 and with no success above Low-A his value was fairly low. It will be interesting to see if Cahill can rebound with the Braves and perhaps a new organization can revive Elander's chances as well.

***Prospect-wise the biggest implication is that pitching prospect Archie Bradley is now the Diamondbacks' official fifth starter. More on him tomorrow.
