So the Baseball Prospect Retrospective Project has been released. If you ordered one, you should have it in .pdf format by email. If you haven't ordered one, go to Johnsickels.net and do so!  It isn't that expensive at $9.95 and people seem to have enjoyed it thus far.

Before the Project was released, a few people asked for a discussion thread to bounce around ideas after they had a few days to read through the project. Well, this is that thread.

As those of you who have read it know, the Project is a beginning point, a skeleton, a proof-of-concept, a very early alpha test release, of a much more extensive endeavor called the Historical Baseball Prospect Book. That book will include everything the Project includes, but in much greater detail, as well as an history of prospect analysis through the years and general baseball essays. That is a long-term project that is probably going to take me a couple of years to do, but I wanted to get the idea out there.

Feel free to comment on things you would like to see in such a book, or on anything else in the Project that catches your eye or you feel is worthy of discussion.
