I am now hard at work on the Miami Marlins prospect list. The next team in the queue is the New York Yankees, to be followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres, and the Detroit Tigers.
Use this thread to discuss the New York Yankees organization. Some potential topics for discussion could include:
***2013 was not a good year for the Yankees, with a disappointing big league squad and a minor league system that didn't provide sufficient reinforcements (although Adam Warren was useful). The Yankees are turning to big-name free agents to return to the top in 2014, but what about the farm system? If you were running the organization, what would you specifically do to improve the situation?
***Remember all the hype about Mason Williams, Slade Heathcott, and Tyler Austin? For various reasons none of them performed up to expectation in '13. Which of the trio will rebound, if any?
***The '13 draft class looks good on paper with lefty Ian Clarkin, third baseman Eric Jagielo, second baseman Gosuke Katoh, and outfielder Aaron Judge already ranking among the top talents in the system. How optimistic (or pessimistic) are you about this group?
***As always, feel free to discuss sleeper prospects that stand out to you, or any other Yankees-oriented farm system topic.
