I am now working on the San Diego Padres prospect list. The next team in line is the Detroit Tigers, to be followed by the St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, Washington Nationals, and a vacation.

Use this list to discuss the Detroit Tigers farm system. Some possible points of conversation include:

***The major league club has been consistently successful for several years. How many games do you expect they will win in 2014?

***Nick Castellanos is the third baseman. What's your slash line prediction for him? If he struggles, how patient do you think the Tigers will be?

***Will Bruce Rondon be an effective closer someday?

***The Tigers often trade their prospects and the farm system usually looks thin. However, they put a lot of effort into Latin America and they do have a knack for uncovering productive players who don't generate huge headlines when first drafted or signed, like Alex Avila, or Drew Smyly or Andy Dirks. Is Devon Travis, a 13th round pick who hit .351 in A-ball last year, the next guy on that list?

***As always, feel free to discuss sleepers or just prospects in general.
