I am now working on the Pittsburgh Pirates prospect list. The next team in line is the Tampa Bay Rays, to be followed by the San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, and the Washington Nationals to finish the project.
Use this thread to discuss the Tampa Bay Rays farm system. Here are some possible points of examination:
***Jake Odorizzi was named as Tampa's fifth starter yesterday. He doesn't have anything left to prove in the minor leagues, so the choice is a logical one. What do you expect from him?
***What should we expect from Hak-Ju Lee, now that the shortstop is back from the knee injury that cost him most of 2013?
***My initial impression is that depth in this system is currently down. Do you agree with that?
***Some Rays prospects have evident makeup issues, with drug suspensions for some high-profile prospects as well as particularly bizarre behavior last spring from Josh Sale, who was 1) such a big asshole that he threw change at a stripper and 2) stupid enough to brag about it on social media. Is this just bad luck or do the Rays need to take a look at how they evaluate player makeup?
***As always, feel free to discuss sleepers that you like, or any other issue regarding the Rays and player development.
