Welcome everyone to the daily gameday thread. Other than a combined no hitter by the Marlins, the star of the day was the man who hit not just one but TWO home runs in yesterday's action. Oh, and it was his first two major league spring training at bats. This man would be 'Nick Williams of the Texas Rangers (Check it out here). The star on the mound was 17 year old southpaw phenom Julio Urias and his one inning start, featuring two strike outs and a fastball tickling 95.

It wasn't just the teenagers on display, Michael Choice was 2-3 with a home run and two RBI for Texas. Center fielder Jake Marisnick stole his third bag of the spring for the Marlins while going 2-3 at the dish with a run scored and a strike out. Short stop Marcus Semien was 2-3 with a pair of runs scored, double and strike out for the Chi Sox. Once again, Nick Castellanos tallied two hits with a double, RBI, and two runs. Joey Gallo cooled off everyone in the park by racking up five strike outs to earn the platinum sombrero.

Jake Odorizzi gave up one run in 3.2 innings against Pittsburgh with three walks, two hits, and two strike outs. Odorizzi and Urias had the two best performances while James Paxton and Edwin Escobar were torched. Paxton was wild as hell through four inngings with two wild pitches, a walk, and a home run allowed. He also allowed six hits and three runs (two earned) with four strike outs. Escobar only made it through 2.2 innings, giving up four runs on five hits, three walks and a home run allowed to go with two strike outs.

Outside the Top 100,Reds first baseman Neftali Soto went off, going a perfect 4-4 with three runs, RBI's, and his second bomb shot of the Spring. Brett Jackson of the Cubs drove in five with a home run and a single in five trips to the dish. Mikie Mahtook, right fielder of the Rays, visited the deli for some grand salami, his only hit. Tyler Collins also went deep and added a triple for Detroit, a single and three runs scored.

Vidal Nuno put up the most impressive line, allowing just a hit and walk in four innings with three punch outs. Jesse Hahn only allowed a hit in 2.2 innings for San Diego. Drew Pomeranz struck out five in two innings for Oakland, and Brad Boxberger struck out the side for the Rays.
