I am now working on the Los Angeles Dodgers prospect list. The next team in line is the Texas Rangers, to be followed by the Pittsburgh Pirates, Tampa Bay Rays, San Diego Padres, Detroit Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians, Colorado Rockies, Seattle Mariners, and the Washington Nationals to complete the process. My goal is to finish by Opening Day or shortly afterward.
Use this thread to discuss the Texas Rangers organization. Some possible points of discussion include, but are not limited to,
***You have a very productive Latin American scouting operation here. Is there anything you would do to change it?
***Everyone wants to talk about that incredible roster at Hickory last year. It was quite a collection of talent: Jorge Alfaro, Nick Williams, Joey Gallo, Lewis Brinson, Ronald Guzman, Nomar Mazara, Ryan Rua, C.J. Edwards (before he was traded to the Cubs). If you like youth and upside, this was the team for you. But what about all the strikeouts? No fewer than six regulars struck out more than 100 times and most of them didn't draw many walks. How much does this concern you? Is it possible that none of these guys are going to wind up as useful big leaguers despite their physical talent? Who is the best bet in this group to succeed, and who is the worst?
***True or False: Rougned Odor will end up being a better hitter than Jurickson Profar...granted that we don't know exactly how good Profar will become, but that's the point of the question.
***As always, feel free to discuss sleepers or overlooked prospects or anything else really as long as it is about Rangers prospects.
