2014 Winter Meetings Discussion Thread

The flurry of trade activity out of Oakland's front office and the opening of the purse strings by the two Chicago clubs have highlighted the first part of the Winter Meetings. With the first major domino falling when the Cubs signed Jon Lester, the entire market is primed to explode with blockbuster deals in the works, and the rest of the pitching market shaking out. Players expected to sign or be traded in the upcoming days include Justin Upton, Jordan Zimmermann, Doug Fister, James Shields, and Chase Headley, along a number of others.

Use this as a place to discuss the prospect laden trades, potential trades brewing, free agent signings both big and small, and any other roster movement that goes on in the most exciting five days of the off season.
