Surprise 19 - Glendale 6
The biggest outburst of the Fall came in the 7th inning as Surprise plated 12 runs en route to an absolute bludgeoning of the Glendale Desert Dogs. RF Hunter Renfroe (SUR) and C John Hicks (SUR) provided the majority of the damage with each player driving in five runs. Renfroe blasted a pair of home runs and a double, also working a walk and scoring all four times up to bat. Hicks also left the yard for the Saguaros and roped a double and a single, scoring three runs and stealing a base as well. 2B Jace Peterson (SUR) reached base three times with a pair of walks and a double, scoring twice and driving in one. SS Michael De Leon (SUR) also got on base three times with a single and two walks, driving in one and scoring once with a strike out and a throwing error. In the other dugout, LF Scott Schebler (GDD) launched a solo homer and singled while 1B Nick Ramirez (GDD) reached base all four times up. He drew two walks, doubled, and singled, driving one run in and scoring once himself. He was also caught attempting to steal a base and made his fourth error of the Fall. SS Corey Seager (GDD) drove in a pair with his seventh double of the Fall, he was hit by a pitch, struck out, and made his first error booting a grounder. 2B Hector Gomez (GDD) pitched in a double and a single with a run scored.
Surprise sent RHP Justin Hancock (SUR) to the mound and he responded with three innings, surrendering four hits and two walks which led to two runs. He also struck out three, hit a batter and induced four ground outs to one fly out. RHP Burch Smith (SUR) earned the win despite blowing the save, allowing a pair of runs in two innings of work, including a solo homer to Schebler. He struck out three and gave up three hits and a walk along with a wild pitch. RHP Blake Smith (GDD) took the loss after getting torched for six runs and recording just two outs.

Peoria 6 - Scottsdale 5
The Javelinas jumped to an early lead with five runs scoring in the first three innings and they were able to hold on as Scottsdale rallied to within one but ultimately falling 6-5 to Peoria. 1B Patrick Leonard (PEJ) was how the kids like to say "en fuego". He blasted a pair of solo home runs, driving in three runs and also singling. DH Cody Stanley (PEJ) kicked in two singles, a run scored, and an RBI and SS Francisco Lindor (PEJ) reached twice on a walk and a single, scoring once. DH Dante Bichette Jr (SCO) would up driving in a pair with two singles and a walk as RF Aaron Judge (SCO) also walked and singled twice, driving in one and striking out once. 1B Greg Bird (SCO) also got in on the action, picking up two singles, a run scored and an RBI on a sac fly. CF Roman Quinn (SCO) came in to score two times after drawing a walk and singling for the Scorpions.
RHP Miguel Almonte (PEJ) took home the win after going 3.2 innings, surrendering just a run on five hits and a walk, striking out five. RHP Grant Sides (PEJ) put together his eighth straight scoreless appearance by working around a hit and a walk with a strike out and his second hold. RHP Brandon Cunniff (PEJ) worked the save despite allowing two runs to cross in the 9th on the heels of two walks and two hits. LHP Adam Morgan (SCO) was torched for five runs on seven hits and a walk in his three inning start. He did not strike anyone out and also served up a homer to Leonard.

Salt River 1 - Mesa 0
A pitchers duel broke out in Mesa as the arm overpowered the sticks with the Rafters taking home a slim one run victory over the Solar Sox. LF Eddie Rosario (SRR) drove in the only run of the game with a sac fly in the 8th inning, driving in C Chad Wallach (SRR) who reached on a single. RF Max Kepler (SRR) singled twice and 3B Brandon Drury (SRR) reached twice with a walk, a single, and he was also caught stealing. SS Trevor Story (SRR) finished a strike out shy of the golden sombrero and also committed his sixth error. 3B Kaleb Cowart (MSS) also made a fielding error while going 0-4 at the plate.
LHP Nate Smith (MSS) and RHP Anthony DeSclafani (SRR) dueled it out for five frames, matching zeroes the whole way. Smith worked around four hits and struck out six while DeSclafani walked one, allowed four hits, and struck out three. RHP Reid Redman (SRR) got the win with two perfect inning of relief, striking out two, and RHP Enrique Burgos (SRR) took home his third save with two strike outs and a hit allowed. LHP Gerardo Concepcion (MSS) gave up the lone run on two hits in one inning, taking the loss.
