Welcome back to the Minor League Ball AFL Gameday. Be sure to check out all the stats from yesterday's action in the link below along with the Game Recaps, Velocity Reports, Performances of the Day, Probable Starters, and Standings further down. With the Minnesota Twins Top 20 Prospects list already released, next in the queue for John will be the Atlanta Braves and Kansas City Royals. Game Recaps from Monday, November 10th

Glendale 5 - Mesa 2

Quick Recap -

Glendale surrendered just four hits to Mesa in their 5-2 win, led by RF Steven Moya (GDD) who drove in three with a two-run homer and a double. He also drew a walk and was caught stealing. 3B Garabez Rosa (GDD) came in to score three times after reaching on a double, a single, and a walk. SS Corey Seager (GDD) added his 10th double, and C Mike Ohlman (GDD) also doubled. DH Jacob Hannemann (MSS) went 3-4 in a losing effort, singling twice with a double and a run scored. 2B Eric Stamets (MSS) hit a solo shot in the 9th, but it was too little too late.

RHP Zach Davies (GDD) only gave up a hit in four innings of work, striking out three without walking anyone or allowing any runs to score. He also hit a batter and induced four ground outs to one fly out, also earning the win. LHP Michael Strong (GDD) worked his second save, allowing only the solo shot to Stamets in 1.1 innings, striking out one. LHP Nate Smith (MSS) took the loss by allowing a pair of runs in 3.2 frames, scattering five hits and a walk while striking out five.

Salt River 8 - Scottsdale 4

Quick Recap -

The bottom of the Salt River line up carried the bulk of the load as they last four hitters combined to go 8-15 in their four run victory over Scottsdale. 1B Ryan Casteel (SRR) doubled twice with a run scored and an RBI while DH Joe Sclafani (SRR) singled twice, scored two runs, drove in two, drew a walk and struck out. SS Taylor Featherston (SRR) also singled two times with two RBI, a run scored, strike out, and he made his third error of the AFL. 3B Brandon Drury (SRR) singled and doubled for the Rafters, scoring once and striking out twice. 2B LJ Mazzilli (SCO) drove in two with a double and a single, scoring once and working a walk. 3B Dan Gamache (SCO) also doubled and singled, scoring twice while also drawing a walk and booting a grounder. SS Matt Reynolds (SCO) pitched in his fifth double with a run scored and RBI.

Salt River starter RHP Christian Bergman (SRR) went five frames, striking out four with a run allowed on three hits and no walks, earning the win. RHP Enrique Burgos (SRR) ran into trouble again, surrendering three runs in the last 1.1 frames on three hits and a walk. He didn't strike anyone out but still was credited with his fourth save. LHP Tom Harlan (SCO) took his fourth loss after allowing three runs in as many innings on six hits and a walk, striking out one.

Peoria 10 - Surprise 4

Quick Recap -

Monster days from RF Kes Carter (PEJ) and SS Francisco Lindor (PEJ) played a big part in the Javelinas 10-4 victory. Carter finished a double short of the cycle, driving in five runs while scoring twice himself and striking out twice. Lindor launched a pair of solo homers and worked a walk in five trips. DH Cody Stanley (PEJ) reached four times on three walks and a triple, scoring two times and driving in a pair with a strike out. 3B Hunter Dozier (PEJ) walked twice and doubled, scoring two runs and striking out two times as well. 2B Sean Coyle (SUR) doubled and singled with an RBI and a strike out for the Saguaros. DH Deven Marrero (SUR) singled twice, struck out twice and scored a run while 1B Kyle Waldrop (SUR) tripled, walked, and scored two times.

RHP Tyrell Jenkins (PEJ) earned his second win of the AFL with a four inning performance, allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four. RHP Stephen Landazuri (SUR) didn't fare quite as well, giving up a pair of gopher balls with four runs crossing on five hits and two walks in three frames. He struck out four and was tagged with his fifth loss.
