This Week in Transactions - New Year's Edition (12/30-1/5)

It seems the starting pitcher market is still waiting for the Masahiro Tanaka saga to play out before kicking up again. According to MLB Trade Rumors' top 50 free agents, only 14 players remain un-signed with 11 pitchers remaining. There are nine starting pitchers, two closers (in order - M. Tanaka, E. Santana, M. Garza, A. Burnett, U. Jimenez, B. Arroyo, G. Balfour, F. Rodney, S. Yoon, P. Maholm, and J. Hammel), and three position players (in order - S. Drew, N. Cruz, K. Morales).
