Good morning prospect watchers. I am taking a break from extensive research and writing this weekend to visit my mother, but I will be around to monitor the discussion and prevent any troll attacks.

***Yesterday's Minor League Ball gameday thread.

***Jeff Sullivan at Fangraphs had an amazing post yesterday about Cleveland Indians rookie Danny Salazar vs. Detroit Tigers superstar Miguel Cabrera. This one is a must-read.

***Also of note: J.J. Cooper at Baseball America discusses power development and how raw power and game power are not the same thing. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only person who was down on Mark Trumbo after he flailed helplessly at Low-A pitching.

***The 2013 Arizona Fall League released its schedule. Rosters won't be for a few more weeks.

***Red Sox prospect Xander Bogaerts went 5-for-7 in a double-header for Triple-A Pawtucket yesterday, moving his line there up to .291/.380/.476 and .301/.395.490 overall on the season. His 60/86 BB/K ratio in 408 at-bats is particularly attractive, and his wOBA+ of 115 in Triple-A is really good at age 20. He seems ready for a major league trial to me.

***Texas Rangers pitching prospect Luke Jackson thrived in his first start for Double-A Frisco, throwing six shutout innings, fanning six. On the season between Frisco and High-A Myrtle Beach, he has a 2.23 ERA with a 114/49 K/BB ratio in 109 innings with just 83 hits allowed.

***Someone asked me yesterday if I would upgrade Rangers prospect Rougned Odor's grade. I had him at a Grade B pre-season and given his age (19) and performance this year (.304/.369/.469 between High-A and Double-A with 27 steals) plus the good scouting reports he is generating, I think a boost to Grade B+ seems appropriate.

***Today's schedule of minor league games. I have been forgetting to post this link lately, but I'll pick the habit back up.
