Good afternoon prospect watchers. The big project today is the All Questions Answered thread. There are over 100 questions there for me to work through, so you can follow along there as I plug away with that the rest of the day.

***Yesterday's Minor League Ball Gameday thread.

***Chicago Cubs prospect and 2013 first-round pick Kris Bryant went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple yesterday for Boise in the Northwest League, moving his line there to .354/.416/.692 in 18 games. He's pretty obviously too good for this level, so what would you do with him if you were the Cubs? Boise is in first place so it might be a nice favor for the affiliate to leave him there. On the other hand, player development is the point here. . .and High-A Daytona is also in first place, plus Daytona doesn't have a third baseman who can hit.

How is this for a plan: leave him in Boise for the next three games, which finishes out the current homestand and would be good for attendance and affiliate relations, then move him up to Daytona for the final two weeks of the season and a likely taste of a professional post-season event.

***Arizona Diamondbacks prospect Brandon Drury went 3-for-5 yesterday with two homers for Low-A South Bend, and is now hitting .314/.362/.527 on the season with 14 homers and an incredible 46 doubles. I was down on him after a horrible 2012 season but he's made a lot of progress this year restoring his stock.

***Cuban star first baseman Jose Abreu has defected and is looking for asylum somewhere in the Caribbean. It will likely take some time for the residency issues to get cleared up, but once everything is squared away, a bidding war is likely. Abreu was a bigger star in Cuba than Yasiel Puig and Yoenis Cespedes, and at age 26 he is the perfect age for a major league team: he's not too old, but he's also old enough that his contract would not count against international bonus pool limits. Scouts are quite familiar with him from international competition and he's not as much of a mystery as some Cuban players, which also adds to his attractiveness.
