Minor League Ball Gameday, July 14

Good afternoon prospect watchers. I'm sure you are all focusing on the 2013 MLB All Star Prospects Game. We have a separate discussion thread going for that, and I will be there through the afternoon live-blogging in the comments section.

***Big baseball news yesterday was Tim Lincecum's no-hitter. I will have a prospect retrospective up for him tomorrow.

***Tampa Bay Rays prospect Victor Mateo threw a one-hitter yesterday for Double-A Montgomery, a seven-inning complete game job in a double-header. Mateo hasn't had a great year, with a 5.28 ERA in 18 starts and a 59/43 K/BB in 97 innings.He was signed by the Rays out of the Dominican Republic back in 2006. He's been used mostly as a starter throughout his career, but I think his future will be in the relief at the highest levels.
