Ciuffo has the prototypical catcher build. He also has the prototypical arm, bat, leadership attributes, and overall attitude of an elite backstop. He is loyal, as he has been committed to South Carolina since he was a freshman in high school. Honestly, he is way too good of a ball player to go to college.

His defense is stellar. He is arguably the best defensive catcher in the class. He is quick behind the plate. He has a quick release and a strong, accurate arm. He has a really quick bat. He has a short, quick stroke that is built to hit line drives to every field. I used "quick" a lot, but trust me, it fits. He won't hit for a ton of home run power but will hit plenty of extra base hits. There is potential he will grow into a 20 home run hitter with time though.

Ciuffo is the total package. In most drafts, he would be the best backstop in the draft, and there are some who think he currently is despite a lot of competition in this class. I think he is the most well rounded. When draft day comes, he will be off the board by pick 20.
