Multiple sources are reporting that Evan Chambers, an outfielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, died this past weekend at the age of 24. Indications are that he passed away in his sleep.
Chambers was drafted by the Pirates in the third round in 2009, from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. The Miami native was limited to just four games in 2013 due to a foot injury.
The staff here at Minor League Ball and all our readers wish to express our sincerest condolences to Evan's family, friends, teammates, and the entire Pirates organization for their loss.
