Hey everyone and welcome to the beginning of the Arizona Fall League. We will continue to do our preview series with Surprise next in the queue. There are 3 games on the slate today:
Mesa at Glendale - 3:35 EST
Peoria at Surprise - 3:35 EST
Scottsdale at Salt River - 9:35 EST
Probables and lineups have already been announced for the two early games so here they are.
Mesa Solar Sox
1. SS Addison Russell
2. CF Brian Goodwin
3. RF Jorge Soler
4. LF Tyler Collins
5. 1B CJ Cron
6. 2B Taylor Lindsey
7. 3B Kris Bryant
8. DH Matt Skole
9. C David Frietas
SP - LHP Michael Roth
Glendale Desert Dogs
1. CF Byron Buxton
2. 2B Micah Johnson
3. 3B Colin Moran
4. RF Yorman Rodriguez
5. SS Corey Seager
6. DH Marcus Semien
7. 1B Max Kepler
8. LF Brian Cavazos-Galvez
9. C Tucker Barnhart
SP - RHP Alex Meyer
Its a surprise to see masher Kris Bryant hitting 7th for Mesa and Yorman Rodriguez in the clean up slot for Glendale. Alex Meyer is the better pitcher of the two, and Glendale will be able to wreak havoc if their top two hitters get on base.
Peoria Javelinas
1. 2B Cory Spangenberg
2. SS Nolan Fontana
3. LF Stefan Romero
4. 1B Japhet Amador
5. CF Aaron Altherr
6. RF Jorge Bonifacio
7. 3B Cheslor Cuthbert
8. C Austin Hedges
9. DH Patrick Kivlehan
SP - RHP Jason Adam
Surprise Saguaros
1. CF Tyler Naquin
2. LF Mitch Haniger
3. SS Jonathan Schoop
4. C Jorge Alfaro
5. RF Henry Urrutia
6. 3B Garin Cecchini
7. DH Ryan Rua
8. 1B Brett Nicholas
9. 2B Joe Wendle
SP - RHP Miguel Pena
Peoria is running out Stefan Romero and Japhet Amador in the heart of their lineup. Surprise threw me for a pair of loops looking at their lineup. One being Jonathan Schoop in the 3 hole as he's more of a table setter. Two is Schoop being listed as a short stop.
The only thing we know about the late game tonight is it will be a match up of RHP Jameson Taillon for Scottsdale taking on RHP Bo Schultz for Salt River.
