Cool Off-Topic Video: Real Color Footage of USS Enterprise, CV-6, early 1941

For the ultimate in ship blogging, check out this real color film footage, not colorized, of flight operations aboard USS Enterprise, CV-6, in early 1941, probably about nine or ten months before Pearl Harbor.

It is an absolute travesty that Enterprise was not preserved as a museum/memorial after the Second World War. She was the most historically significant ship in the history of the United States Navy. The only others which come close are the frigate Constitution and the first nuclear submarine Nautilus. I never understood why so many of the battleships were preserved, but Enterprise was sent to the scrap heap.
