The Texas Rangers traded veteran infielder Michael Young to the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, receiving reliever Josh Lindblom and prospect Lisalverto Bonilla in return. Here's the prospect read on Bonilla.

Lisalverto Bonilla, RHP: Bonilla was signed by the Phillies as an undrafted free agent from the Dominican Republic in 2008. Bonilla had a strong 2012 season, posting a 1.35 ERA in 13 innings with an 18/4 K/BB for High-A Clearwater in the Florida State League, then a 1.64 ERA with a 46/17 K/BB in 33 innings for Double-A Reading. He missed the second half of the season with a broken hand, but was healthy again and pitching in the Dominican Winter League.

Bonilla is a 6-1, 170 pound right-hander, born June 6th, 1990. Used as a starter in the low minors, he threw in the 90-93 range, but was up into the mid-90s after converting to the bullpen this year. He has a very good changeup and has made some progress tightening his slider. He projects as a middle reliever, although he's got some upside due to his athleticism. If the slider continues to improve, he could wind up back in the rotation.
