I am now working on the Miami Marlins prospect list. The next team in line is the Houston Astros, to be followed by the Cleveland Indians, New York Mets, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks, and New York Yankees.
Use this thread to discuss the Houston Astros system. What do you think of Jeff Lunhow's rebuilding program so far? Some main discussion themes here:
**What do you think of the 2012 draft? Was Carlos Correa the right choice, or would you have preferred one of the available pitchers, Mike Zunino, or Byron Buxton? What about the subsequent rounds? Do you discern any Cardinals-esque influence in their selections?
**What do you think of the group of prospects gathered in trades? System depth has obviously improved rapidly from where it was a year ago, and is certainly much better than it was three years ago.
**With the roster purged of most veterans, where would you go from here if you were Luhnow and company? Invest more in Latin America? Look at other places perhaps like Asia or Europe? Can you think of any other "outside the traditional box" moves like hiring Kevin Goldstein?
**As always, feel free to discuss any sleeper types you like.
Discuss! This is a very interesting system.
