I am now working on the Baltimore Orioles prospect list. The next team in line is the Chicago Cubs, to be followed by the Toronto Blue Jays, Miami Marlins, Houston Astros, and Cleveland Indians.
Use this thread to discuss the Cubs organization. Some possible points of discussion:
**The system has some intriguing hitters, led by phenom Javier Baez, 2012 first round pick Albert Almora, and Cuban Jorge Soler. It is much weaker in pitching, and overall depth is a problem. If you were the Cubs, would you do anything specific to address this, or would you continue with a "best available player" strategy in the draft and international free agent market?
**Do you think Brett Jackson's strikeout issues will destroy his chance to be a regular?
**What would you do with Josh Vitters? Did he just have the jitters during his major league trial?
**Is Junior Lake going to end up as a pitcher?
**As always, feel free to mention any sleepers that you're high on.
