Sandberg is a raw athlete with a ton of potential but needs considerable refinement.

High School Senior

Bats/Throws: Left/Left
HT/WT: 6'3"/215
Birthdate: 1/2/95 Age at Draft: 18.56

When I saw Sandberg at the PG national, I immediately was impressed by the stature. Standing 6'3" and 210 LBS, he looks like he should be a 1st round pick. He is very athletic and it is no shock that he is also a talented player on the gridiron.

When he swings the bat, it is reaffirmed that he could be a first round talent. His left handed swing has strength and control and will likely improve when he gives up throwing the pigskin. He has power to all fields and showed that by hitting balls hard to the opposite field in game situations. He has solid average to above average speed. His arm will play at a corner spot and he could play center field early in his career as long as he doesn't fill out and slow down.

Looking at the potential of Sandberg is exciting. He has plus tools across the board and shows potential to be an elite player if he hits that ceiling. That is the lottery ticket that teams want to get in the draft, so he should come off the board early as long as football isn't the decision maker for him. Keep in mind that he had been splitting his time with two sports and his abilities are raw. He is inconsistent in many aspects of the game but the athleticism should allow him to adapt quickly in pro ball. If he attends college it will be at Mississippi State where he has stated he will likely only play one sport.
