Josh Hart, OF, Lilburn, Georgia
High School Senior
Bats/Throws: Left/Left
HT/WT: 6'2"/180
Birthdate: 10/2/94 Age at Draft: 18.81
Hart is a 6'2, 180 LB athletic outfielder who looks like he could be a solid center fielder until he fills out more when he may have to move to a corner.
Hart has a very upper body driven swing at times. I'm not enough of a scout to tell you if that is going to cause problems but I can't say that it won't cause an issue. His balance could be better but his bat speed is impressive. Some of the best of the draft class. His athletic ability is very good and that should help him correct any issues he has. He could be a star with the bat if it all clicks. His swing kind of reminds me of Denard Span but Hart generates more power.
I think Hart profiles as a solid top of the order bat and can play an up the middle position. I haven't looked at ages and how old he is for his draft class, but he's older than many. Some people will be excited by the potential power generated by his swing. That along with an arm that will be an asset in center field and average on a corner should get him taken in the 1st round. This spring will decide where he gets drafted but the tools are there to be a high pick. If he doesn't sign, he's commited to Georgia Tech.
