2011 Under Armour All America Game Top 10 Prospects

It was a wet day at Wrigley, but a lot of talent was on display in the game. The pitchers did not show as much talent as they had the last two years that I saw the game, but their was plenty of talent on display.

1. Stryker Trahan 2012 C 6'1 218 Scott, LA Acadiana

Trahan has power near the top of the scale. He is a catcher with 5 potential above average tools. That is about as good as it gets.

2. Jesmuel Valentin 2012 SS 5'10 175 Manati, PR Puerto Rico Baseball Academy

The son of Jose Valentin, his glove looks like it's big league caliber in the middle infield. He has a good balanced swing that looks like it could develop some pop as well.

3. Jeremy Martinez 2013 C 5'11 190 Fountain Valley, CA Mater Dei

Balanced hitting catcher looks as good at the plate as he does behind it. He could be a top 10 pick in 2013. He has good pop that is gap power now but he could develop 20 home run power.

4. Lewis Brinson 2012 OF 6'4 180 Tamarac, FL Coral Springs

Brinson has a ton of tools. He is really skinny, but has a big frame and should be able to add some strength. He already has good batting practice power and it should come in games with time. He is raw but he was one of the best players at the game.

5. Gavin Cecchini 2012 SS 6'2 182 Lake Charles, LA Barbe

Gavin isn’t as good of a hitter as his brother, but he has a nice line drive stroke that should produce good average. He also can handle the middle infield better than Garin. He looks like he could stick at short. He has a good arm and good range with a very high baseball IQ.

6. Byron Buxton 2012 OF/RHP 6'2 170 Baxley, GA Appling County

Buxton is an impressive athlete. He is fast, has a great arm and can really hit. He could have 20-25 home run power. I'm not sure he can stay in CF. I haven't seen him enough to know, but if he can, he will be a very high pick.

7. Ty Hensley 2012 RHP 6'4 215 Edmond, OK Santa Fe

Hensley is a massive kid who had one of the best breaking balls in the game. Pitchers weren't on the same level as the hitting in this game. Maybe it was the weather, but no one blew me away. Hensley was the best of the bunch though.

8. Anthony Alford 2012 OF 6'1 212 Petal, MS Petal

Alford is a massive player. He is built like a rock and looks like a future power hitter. He has a good apporoach and even went the other way in one at bat. He has a strong arm and will likely be a RF and should have the skills to be a good one, as long as he chooses baseball over football.

9. Fernelys Sanchez 2012 OF 6'3 192 New York, NY George Washington

Sanchez got hit in the back to end the game but did very much to impress me in the game. He is very fast, top of the scale speed. He has a very good arm and has a projectable bat. He could be the best prospect in this game if he fulfills his potential.

10. Jose Orlando Berrios 2012 RHP 6'1 178 Bayamon, PR Papa Juan XXIII

Berrios is a long, lean righty that had one of the better fastballs at the game. It had some movement and was just an easy delivery. He doesn't have that big body like some others did, but I liked his delivery.

A few others that caught my eye:

David Thompson 2012 3B 6'1 195 Miami, FL Westminster Christian

Big power projection. Not a great 3B but a good athlete.

Mikey White 2012 SS 6'1 190 Hoover, AL Spain Park

Leads the nation in eye black. Can hit a little too

Curt Britt 2012 RHP 6'2 220 Laurinburg, NC Scotland

The opposite of projectable, Britt looks like a innings eater with a nice change.
