Matt Sczcur commits to the Cubs

New, 1 comment

Villanova standout WR and Outfielder has commited to a future in baseball and decided to give up his shot at a career in the NFL. With the decision to give up football, he will get a $1 million dollars on top of the $.5 million he recieved after his original signing after being drafted this season in the 5th round.

In his short period of time in short season A ball he hit .397/.439/.521 and showed that he was a polished hitter along with being an amazing athlete. His athleticism is at the top of the scale as is his speed. He has shown that he has power and he will need some time to translate that into games, but a future OF of Reggie Golden in Left, Sczcur in CF and Brett Jackson in RF should get Cubs fans really excited.
