Kevin Koziol, a 3B/P, who was part of a great recruiting class, was kicked off the baseball team by Coach Paul Mainieri because of his arrest for driving while intoxicated. Koziol wasn't expected to play much, if at all, this season but it shows the difference in how players are treated in college as opposed to pro ball. Delino DeShields Jr. was also arrested this week for DUI and I doubt it will hinder his development at all. As for Koziol, he will have to look elsewhere for development this season. He was a highly touted player out of Illinois, winning the Gatorade player of the year award, and has a lot of talent but this could hinder his development.
